Our mission

We're on a mission to decarbonise Britain's homes — starting with the millions that everyone else has decided are too difficult, too old, or too expensive to bother with.

Between us, Henry and Jez have spent more than 40 years working on this problem. We've watched the technology get good enough. Now we're building the installation company that makes it the obvious choice, not just the responsible one.

The opportunity we're not going to waste

The decarbonisation of the UK's electricity grid over the past 15 years has been remarkable: it has dramatically cut the carbon emissions of every home with electric heating. But for most homeowners, that progress has barely touched their carbon footprint at all, because most homes are still heated by a gas or oil boiler, exactly as they were 50 years ago.

We think the electrification of the British home is the single biggest opportunity of the next decade. This means heat pumps which are at least three times better than any other electrified heating technology, but the industry hasn't made them easy to choose.

Flattening the barriers

'Heat pumpification' has been hard — not because of one big obstacle, but because of a lot of small ones that all made keeping the gas boiler the default choice. The UK needs an installation company that's prepared to go after every one of those barriers, one at a time, until the easy choice and the right choice are the same choice.

One of the biggest is cost. A good heat pump installation normally costs more than swapping in another gas combi. We're not going to pretend otherwise. But cost isn't the only thing that decides what goes into a home.

A better way to live, not just a better way to heat

The case for heat pumps is more than reducing emissions — installed correctly, they enable a more comfortable home. The hot summer of 2026 put something new at the front of people's minds: staying cool. We think that's how heat pumps win.

A heat pump can heat your home, cool it, and give you hot water — in some cases all from one system. We believe one company should install it all, rather than sending you to two different tradespeople for three different jobs. That's our promise.

Fifteen years ago, when the grid still ran largely on coal and gas, summer cooling meant high carbon emissions — air conditioning was something to feel guilty about. That's no longer true. As solar power and battery storage have grown, cooling demand now lines up with exactly when renewable generation is at its highest. Used well, it's one of the best things you can do with clean electricity — and the right kind of summer electricity use is exactly what keeps solar power economically viable as more of it comes onto the grid.
